Again, I think this was all part of your plan.” Cassie looked at the king-sized bed scattered with rose petals and a bottle of champagne that was chilling in the silver ice bucket.

“I’m sorry. I can’t take credit for this, except for simply making the reservation. It seems they do this for all couples staying in the honeymoon suite.”

He stepped close to her, but he didn’t make a move to touch her, although she couldn’t deny she wished he would. She craved him like her next breath. Walking around not wearing underwear didn’t help much. During the ride here, he’d taken them out of his pocket and sniffed the fabric. She’d found it erotically sexy. Things like this only happened in the novels she read.

He stared as if he could see into her soul. His sharp blue eyes were like dancing fireflies and his jaw was relaxed. His broad shoulders were amplified by the tailored fit of the jacket.

“I wish I could read your thoughts,” she said.

“Why not just allow me to tell you? I’m glad you’re here with me. If you don’t want me giving you an orgasm, we can just cuddle. You’re holding the strings, sweetheart.”

Her toes curled in the plush carpet. “I vote for the orgasm.”

“Take your clothes off and meet me in the bathroom.”

Swallowing, she stood in the center of the room with the large window looking over the twinkling lights of downtown. Was she dreaming all this? Wasn’t she too old to be whisked away and treated like a princess?

Hearing the water come on, she realized he was running a bath.

Unzipping the dress, she allowed it to fall to her ankles as she glanced at her nude reflection in the mirror. She’d never felt comfortable naked in front of any man.

She stepped into the bathroom and found him dropping a capful of fragrant bath oil into the water. It smelled like an exotic mixture of coconut and lavender.

He had lost his jacket, bow tie and shirt, and they were neatly stacked on a nearby rack, his shoes sitting next to it.

Under the weight of his stare, she didn’t cover her body as she normally would. Instead, she loved how he admired her and celebrated in how his face lit with desire. He had the expression of a man who wanted to draw her to the floor and fuck her senseless. She wouldn’t mind, and yet, she didn’t mind taking a bath with him either.

He motioned for her to come closer. “Let me help you in, sweetheart.”

She took his hand and stepped over the side, lowering into heaven on earth as the warm water wrapped her body in a delightful cocoon. The tub was large, unlike hers back at home, and she could stretch out easily, the water covering her shoulders. It had been a long time since she’d enjoyed the luxury of a hot bath.

He took a seat on the side of the tub.

“Aren’t you going to join me?” she asked.

“I’m going to bathe you,” he said in a raspy tone.
